Cocktails & Recipes

Signature Serve

What You Need

  • 1 ¾ oz 400 Conejos® Mezcal
  • Orange slice sprinkled with salt on the side

How To Make It

Serve 400 Conejos® Mezcal neat in a traditional wide-mouthed “veladora” mezcal glass. Take a sip and then a bite of the orange slice.

Sales de Gusano

Sal de Gusano, or worm salt, is rock salt ground with dried chile pepper and agave worms. The agave worms live in agave plants and are fattened on the sweet agave nectar.

The salt is designed to enhance the umami flavour of the mezcal so traditionally the worm salt is consumed with a slice of orange and a glass of mezcal.

New to Mezcal?

Here are some tips to help you discover and experience the unique and delightful properties of 400 Conejos mezcal:

Step 1

Sip your mezcal from a traditional “veladora” glass, which is commonly used for drinking fine mezcal in Oaxaca, Mexico. It has a wide mouth that allows the aroma to gently hit your nose prior to drinking.

Step 2

Enjoy 400 Conejos accompanied by a slice of orange sprinkled with sal de gusano (worm salt). Take a sip and then take a bite of the orange. The citrus and salt makes for a refreshing palate cleanser and enhances the authentic Mexican experience!
